Well that did not last long with the first, let's call it "major outage"

Any word already on how long Stastny will be out, or is it just "longer" these days?

I think he's day-to-day. That could be Blues downplaying it though. I don't think many people in a sling are actually day-to-day.

They're saying it's a shoulder injury now; last I heard it was wrist/arm. I don't get why they don't just come out and say what it is though. You'd think if it was major they would. Hopefully that means it really is just a day to day thing. A sling doesn't necessarily mean it's a long-term thing.

I'm probably just being optimistic, but why not? Until we know for sure I'm taking that route.

Our forwards are stacked to the point that this shouldn't be a problem, anyway. We're not requiring him to lift heavy weight while we have players like Schwartz, Frank, Backes, etc. there to contribute.

It doesn't sound major to me, sounds like they're being really proactive about making sure he's healthy, which is a good sign to me.

Well he didn't break his legs, so skating isn't a problem.

Really though, if he comes back sooner than expected that would be nice. Given what happened in the games following his untimely departure from the lineup, maybe my assessment that he's not necessary was premature. Or maybe it was just that they either A) sucked because they all had the ebola or B) sucked because they have an eternal problem with west coast teams.

This is my favorite sequence of posts that I've seen in a while. Way to bring it home.

They're saying he might be cleared for contact later this week, so regarding that part of things it's sounding optimistic. Regarding the rest of what you're saying, no comment. I'll just say the west coast can suck it. Especially since they're now giving visiting teams bacterial infections from their danky locker rooms.
