Quick glance at the Bruins roster, and taking into account the cap, I'm not really sure what to make of this. They're not exactly mopping up, offensively. Bergeron and Soderberg lead the team with 18 points apiece, but already 27 games played so they can definitely use some offensive help at the moment. That said, it's not like we're exactly banging home the goals with alarming frequency either. If Bouwmeester might be out longer than previously anticipated, I suppose Army could ask for some defense in return, or for some toughness. Either way, a top 6 forward should net more than a temporary replacement d-man or a guy who can rack up PIM's even if that top 6 forward is just Berglund. I can't imagine going after a goalie unless they know Ells will be out a long time and are giving up on Allen already, so I don't really know how Boston is a trade partner unless the return haul is prospects and/or picks.

Can't imagine either of those two games ramped up the value of whoever we might trade.

Looking at their forwards, Loui Eriksson would be a guy I'd take a flyer on. Marchand would be nice. Krejci. But I don't know who they're willing to give up. I mean obviously Bergeron isn't going anywhere. I wouldn't expect someone as young as Reilly Smith to be moved, either.

In sort of related news, I saw a tweet that Elliott was being dangled and the Oilers were interested? What the flying hell is that all about? April Fools Day comes in December this year?

That comment came from Nick Kypreos? Based on what info? That we signed Brodeur???

What an idiot. Kypreos obviously doesn't know what the hell he is talking about. Talk about pulling shit out of your ass.

Elliott is the best goalie we have. It's not even really close. Trading him would be...beyond stupid.

Schwartz for Lucic, straight up. DO IT LEERY

I have a bad feeling that Boston wants Backes.

To me, the Killer B's and the Blues are too evenly stacked with the same needs. Has to be a third team involved. Edmonton? Their owner is an idiot and'll trade away top flight talent for nothing. Package Bergy as the second coming of Messier and they may bite lol.

I think goon is right, the Bruins want Backes.

I think he is probably available.

Go back to the fight with Tank which was rumored to have been simmering for some time.

Who do you build your franchise around? Not to mention Backes and Stastny are pretty much the same guy, Stastny has better hands.

If we're trading Backes, it's not because we want to, it's because we have to. Means him and Frank are really not getting along and that's where our problem is, and thats affecting everyone's game and Stastny's as well.

I could live without Backes.

If Tank scores as predicted and works as hard as predicted, he's in line to be the next captain of this team. As such, the old captain needs to be moved.

I would not be shocked if Backes is dealt to Boston for a wing from Edmonton with prospects going from Boston to Edmonton.

I would be very surprised if Backes is traded. JR has said that he doesn't think that incident in practice was personal or even specifically between Backes and Tarasenko. It was more of Backes making a point to the team as a whole, not just Tarasenko. He also said he doesn't think the incident has lingered.

HA! That was my first thought too. Why did they have to choose these past 2 games to scout closely? I'm curious how much weight they give to a specific game. Obviously they give it some weight or they wouldn't be scouting more closely. But, they (should) already have a pretty good idea of what we have on our roster before sending a scout.

I got to the game just as it was starting and missed the scratches announcement so here I am thinking Steen was invisible during the game. That explains it.

Almost certainly a bullshit injury as they work out the details of a deal. Steen has not been stellar for us this year, curious what they'll get in return.

Any news on the Steen scratch? I hope the previous comments were only speculation. SB nation calling a Bergy for Eriksson? Doubt that would happen, but would rather see him off than Steen. JMO
