I normally couldn't give a hoot what Bernie has to say about anything but even a blind pig finds an acorn now and then:

I’m still trying to understand how a home team that has so much to play for can be so quickly demoralized by one goal. But that’s exactly what occurred Friday night, when the Blues went in the tank after Minnesota scored the tying goal in the first period.

The Blues had nearly 49 minutes of regulation hockey on the clock, the Scottrade Center crowd was roaring with support, and the night was there for the taking. But the Blues sagged into a state of hockey depression, all because the Wild tied it at 1-1?

I couldn't agree more. After that goal you started to see the half-efforts, the stick checking and just general malaise--and as Bernie said, that is simply unacceptable.

Isn't there a quote from Stastny a few months ago how the Blues can't handle losing and have a hard time dealing with it?

They don't have much of a hard time cashing in the 3-6 million a year a lot of them make.

All the more reason that core players need to be traded. Now. It's almost a mindset at this point of ineptitude. They don't find ways to win when their backs are against the wall. The only way to change that is to change the players, IMO

Agreed. In Stastny's case it's $7 million a year which is highway robbery!
