We've won one playoff series since then! In 10 years!

Leaps and bounds, let me tell you...
I'd rather be making the playoffs every year to get bounced in the first round as opposed to what I witnessed in 2005-2006, but cool....
At least back then I was excited for our future.
So you're saying you preferred those days?

You need to snap out of it. You're going to pout and moan and miss a great season.
So...at what point do you snap out of it?
What if we get to the 2nd round? Will you be optimistic then? Conference finals? Finals?
By then it will be too late. The bus will have left without you.
I'm sure as the year goes along I'll settle down.

Nice to see Tarasenko being on pace for 82 goals this season through two games :okman:

Haven't had the chance to see Patayko or Edmunson play yet but the comments here on the board have been extremely positive which I'm very happy to see.

There you go, two optimistic and positive comments from me! :okman:

Parayko is gonna be a really good one. Not saying he is like Hedman, but he gets around the ice like Victor Hedman.

Well, yeah-and everyone here falls into the group of "people who have not won the NHL President's Trophy" (by the way, which president? Does the NHL have a president?). For fans though, it's completely overshadowed by what your team does or doesn't do in the playoffs that season. Completely. To me, 1999-2000 will always be-primarily-the year the Blues got the #1 seed and were dumped by the Sharks. All the PT means is that either the Blues hugely overachieved over in that regular season or they grossly failed to live up to their potential in the playoffs.

In a couple years, it may be very well fair to say that Parayko was the steal of his draft. If they did a mock re-do right now, he'd probably be in the first round. In a couple of years, he may well be in the top 5.

I became a fan during the 92-93 season, so I was spoiled by regular playoff appearances for quite a while. 05-06 was a miserable season, just plain miserable. I'd rather be in the playoffs and have a shot than ever watch that garbage again. As bad as the playoff disappointments have been since pretty much the dawn of this franchise, you have to be in it to have any chance at all. There was no silver lining then, now there is. We have a goodish farm system, a perennial all-star d-man in the making in Parayko, I'm not wild about the platoon goalie situation but I think there's enough guys in the pipeline that someone will snatch the definitive #1 sooner or later. We're basically in a situation right now that even if the old core doesn't get it done, there's enough of a new core to avoid a rebuild. It's a unique position to have the window stay open a bit longer than for many teams and I'm happy about that.

It's weird how many of those names disappeared from memory, and seeing this list, I'm like "Oh yea! I remember him."

Remember Steve Martins? Ahh, those were bad years.

There are just so many names on there I either don't remember or wish I didn't remember. Didn't Sejna have a hat trick one time and then never scored again?

Looks-wise he reminded me of a character from the Flintstones.
