I want the John Kelly tribute. That's who I grew up with and Wilson and his insistence on pronouncing names the wrong way grated on my nerves for his entire run as Blues announcer. Thank God for season tickets during 4 of those years.

I loved Dan Kelly and Ken Wilson both. Totally different styles, but both ingrained in my memory.

I don't even mind John Kelly all that much, although I like his father and Wilson more.

And that video just reminds me how Pierre Turgeon was money in the playoffs. Still pissed he didn't finish out with the Blues.

Ken Wilson later in his career was lazy and arrogant. I have my issues with him about that.
But Ken Wilson for most of his time as a Blues announcer was fantastic and who I grew up listening to.
"Oh baby!" was quoted around our house after every driveway goal or stick hockey goal or whatever. That was just how great plays were called as far as we were concerned.

I will happily continue to be Mr. Negative if it helps this team keep winning series'. The day after game 6 I took my older son to the park and there was a dad there in a Hossa jersey. I had to resist the urge to vomit the entire time we were there. I think tomorrow we'll go back and see if he's there again, I'll be sure to wear some Blues gear for good measure.

Bring on Dallas but before that, please tighten up the 2nd period defense a little or they'll destroy us.

Fabbri's play to set up the game-winner - Extraordinary!!!!

1) Fabbri forces the turnover at the Hawks blueline getting knocked on his butt in the process.
2) Pietrangelo gets it in the zone and it winds up on Stastny's stick on the wall.
3) After being knocked on his ass, Fabbri is on the opposite side of the ice at the net to get the pass from Stastny. That hustle after being knocked on his butt is AWESOME.... and...
4) it sets up Fabbri's pass to an undefended Brouwer, because Gustaffson, who turned the puck over and failed to keep Fabbri on the ice, was too slow getting back.

Love to see in the future what Fabbri can do as a Center with more freedom.

Media is mostly focusing on Brouwer scoring the Game-Winner. Without the work from Fabbri on that shift, that goal doesn't happen. Love seeing the rookie being the key contributor to the key play in a Game 7.

While everyone in the media is gushing over Brouwer because he got the GW goal, pretty much no one is talking about Fabbri who did the majority of the work to set up that goal. Call him the Blues secret weapon. It's stunning how much the media doesn't see while only focusing on one player who struggled to put the puck into an empty net.

But Brouwer had a nice series...albeit, with just the one goal...but still.

All Brouwer did was skate to the net and wait. Fabbri - forced TO and knocked down. Gets up and goes to opposite side of net. Stastny on the RW wall gets pass to Fabbri probably expecting Fabbri to shoot. Crawford seriously overplays the pass to Fabbri. Fabbri sees Brouwer and makes the right play to the guy facing an empty net. Had Fabbri not got his ass up and busted butt to get to the LW side of the net from the RW blueline, that goal doesn't happen. It's stunning to me how good this 20 year old rookie is already.

Him and Tarasenko on separate lines..... AWESOME!!!!! And note as we mentioned, it was Fabbri/Stastny/Brouwer - NOT Steen in Fabbri's slot.

What a game. What a series. The Blues don't win these type of series, they don't come up with the big goals. Except they did in those 7 games against the Hawks.

Looking ahead, the business starts now. If you can beat the Hawks, you can beat anyone and it's time to prove that. I just don't know what to do with myself today.

Let's not knock Brouwer down too hard eh? He did end up right there in the goal mouth and he did - albeit at third try, while dropping on his sorry ass - stuff in the GAME 7 WINNING MOTHAFUCKEN GOAL!!!
