Well this one's easy. Nashville would be winning their first Cup before we win ours which is a concept that pisses me off to no end. Pittsburgh already has a few so it's not like they'd be joining the likes of teams like the Islanders, Ducks and Lightning. So, I guess it's "Go Pens" for this series.

So Subban is still aloud to punch and cross-check opponents, but god forbid someone should hit him back with the same crap he pulls.

Predators must be in shock that they aren't allowed to cross-check like they've done for the 1st three rounds of the playoffs. Wish to heck the 2nd round had been called this way. It's not like it's the same refs who were allowing it then and aren't now or anything.

What a dumpster fire of a third period last night. Rinne forgets how to play goalie, the whole Preds roster collapses, starts getting pissed off and frustrated and going after Pens players...

Rough. I think Rinne still has to get the start in game 3 but God, he's got to turn it around QUICK.

Preds should've split that series with the Pens. Coulda shoulda woulda.

Predators weren't getting away with the same crap they've gotten away with for 3 rounds and it showed. They might not have made the Finals had the 1st 3 rounds been officiated like Game 2 of the Finals. One telling point - Pierre saying you can't cross-check someone 4 times in a row or it will be called, which happened last night. Well, it wasn't called that way in Rd 2 when Reaves was being x-checked over and over and over again, until he'd had enough and protected himself with the elbow - which was called, but not all the cross-checks. On that same play, Upshall was just up the wall from Reaves being cross-checked in a similar manner. To me, that's what has made playoffs this year so damn frustrating - maddeningly inconsistent officiating. Not saying the Blues would have won, but call the damn game consistently, especially when it's the same officials who didn't call those same things in similar circumstances earlier in the playoffs.

Best of 3 now...I really don't want Nashville to win.

I really hope the Penguins pull this out with the crap Subban and Neal pull on a regular basis without facing any ramifications for their actions. A game officiated by the rules, not the "let stuff go because it's the playoffs" rules, this isn't even a series.

Am I the only one here ~rooting for Nashville? I've gotten a bit sick of seeing Pittsburgh win and don't really care for Crosby much anymore.

Nashville getting a Cup before us would be pretty sucky though.

Yeah, I think you may be the only one. I hate the idea of Nashville with a Cup before St. Louis more than I hate the idea of seeing Sid with another.

Nope. I'm cheering for them.

Basically everyone has won a cup before the Blues have. I don't really care about that part.

For me its more that the Preds deserve to win it as they've been outplaying everyone this postseason and the Pens just won it last year. I'd like to see Hainsey win a cup, that's the only reason I'd be fine with the Pens winning.

I'm always in favor of a new team winning the cup.

This post-season nonwithstanding, Nashville is far from a hockey town. Those fans are going berserk because they have literally nothing else to cheer for in Nashville. 80% of them probably don't even understand half the rules of hockey. And not to give any sort of credence to the Red Wings, but I find it particularly tacky that the Predators fans have basically hijacked the Wings fans' tradition by simply replacing a catfish for an octopus. Be at least a tiny bit original, how about it?

I can't ever root for Nashville - as they have that stupid policy on trying to keep out fans of the visiting team. I believe everyone should be welcome. Plus if you need a policy like that it means you can't fill the seats with your own fan base. Hopefully Pitt can skate the cup around the Predators ice in game 6.

They value their guitars, boots, and booze too much to actually chuck anything really symbolic, and lobbing a gap-toothed cousin would require at least 3-4 people.

I was wrestling with whether or not to make a similar comment and opted against it. You know, the toothbrush was allegedly invented in Nashville. Had it been invented anywhere else, it would be called a teethbrush.

In any event, go Pens.
