Thanks, Buffalo Sabres!!

Just before the quote below Eichel brought up there being a "disconnect" with him in how to handle the herniated disc in his neck. Then he drops this bomb after the next reporter's question and seemed totally non-chalant about it.
Jack Eichel wrote:Right now, for me, I think the most important thing is to get healthy and figure out a way to be available to play hockey wherever that might be
He brings up how the losing takes a toll right after the above - kind of like ROR was saying the season before he got traded to the Blues.
Imagine being GM Kevyn Adams - not even 1 full year into the job - and your star center throws that out there.

Reinhart wants out too just hasn't been "as" vocal about it.
What a mess. I feel so bad for Sabres fans. I guess the "good news" is they got $31.7 million in cap space this year and if Eichel gets traded they "should" get an absolute haul (just takes 2 teams to get into a bidding war!) for him.
If I'm a Sabres fan, it can't be any worse, right? Almost literally cannot be any worse than it is right now. Maybe the Hockey Gods finally throw them a bone and the lottery balls fall for them and they can land Power.
They're going to have to overpay for some veterans this offseason to try and prop up some kind of a culture worth talking about. Such a disaster.

The league isn't shoving a solid prospect into the bitter cold pit of Buffalo, New York. Unless there's some sort of malfunction, the Sabres aren't getting the #1. I feel bad for them too, but hey at least they have the Bills on a solid upward trajectory to keep their minds off the completely dysfunctional hockey team up there.

You really think the NHL controls the lottery?
If Connor McDavid isn't proof enough that they don't then I don't know what to tell you. Heck, throw Auston Matthews in there too, I'm sure they would've preferred he be in Arizona, not Toronto...
Edmonton in general the last 15 years. I'm sure the NHL would prefer a top pick to go ANYwhere other than Edmonton (Calgary and Winnipeg probably up there too).

tired of the phrase 'unprecedented times' but I think this will be the only season ever to have overlap of playoff and regular season games as the Flames and Nucks play out the string
