Quebec Remparts Thread (QMJHL)

Quebec moved to 7-1 tonight with a 6-2 win over Blainville-Broisbriand. (aside, yes the Remparts head coach is that Patrick Roy which is why he couldn't attend the Blues-Avs game and Panger was wondering why Roy wasn't there. Find it kinda funny a really good Blues prospect is playing for the team Roy was coaching that night and Panger didn't know.)

Zachary Bolduc was 2nd star with a goal and 2 assists, including the GWG on the power play. Bolduc has 9 points in 7 games with 3 G and 6 A, currently 22nd in points in the Q. He's 2nd on the team in scoring behind Theo Rochette, Hawks prospect, whose a full year older. Rochette was on Quebec last year and is playing on a line he led last season. Bolduc was on an entirely different team last season, but appears to have continued where he left off with Rimouski. Bolduc needs to add weight (currently 177) for the NHL to his 6'1 frame.

Quebec won 9-4 today moving to 8-1-0-0 and lead the QMJHL in points and goals for and have allowed the fewest goals against. Bolduc registered 1 G and 1A. Most of the scoring came for their depth lines. Roy made the right moves as GM to make this team one of the best in the Q this season. Heck, currently, they are the best in basically everything.

Qeubec lost their 2nd game, finally, in a low-scoring affair - 2-1. Bolduc added another assist (10 GP, 4G, 9A 2nd on the team in points, tied for 6th overall in the Q).

5-2 loss for the Remparts tonight with zero production from their top 2 lines (so 0 pts for Bolduc) against one of the other QMJHL top teams, Sherbrooke. Quebec had plenty of high danger chances - 15 of their 27 shots. Sherbrooke's goalie was just better. Quebec played their "rookie" backup tonight who was really good in his first 3 starts. Just wasn't good tonight.

Remparts lost 5-4 last night to Saint John Sea Dogs. Bolduc registered 2 G and 1 A all at even strength, although the 2nd goal was 6-on-5 with the goalie pulled in the final 2 minutes. Bolduc for the season - 12 GP 6G 10A only 3 of those points are on the PP (2 PPG and 1 PPA). 2nd on the team in goals, assists, points and shots on goal. 15th in the league in points. He's probably going to pass his teammate, the undrafted Theo Rochette, in goals before too long.

Nothing for Bolduc today as the Remparts lost 5-0 to the Baie-Comeau Drakkar in an afternoon matchup. In classic Patrick Roy fashion, when down 4-0 with 4:44 remaining, he pulled the goalie. Didn't help.

Bolduc scored 1 goal in a 3-1 loss to the Cape Breton Eagles. He currently has 7G and 14A in 18 GP. Just going to reiterate he's only 18 and could get 2 more year in juniors to develop. My bet is he gets one more year in juniors and makes the Blues in the 23-24 season. The Blues roster is just so deep right now, so there will be no need to rush this kid.
