0-2 so far, not looking too great.

Alexandrov looks good, definitely next man up when the injury bug hits.

Hofer certainly isn't helping matters, two losses, 3.61 GAA, .881 save % in those two games. Get Zherenko in there and see if he can right the ship.

Game 3 was a 2-0 loss. Things just aren't synching up yet.

T-Birds won game 4 behind a 30 save effort by Vadim Zherenko.

Bold prediction, this kid leapfrogs everyone on the depth chart and gets the call to replace Thomas Greiss either late this season or next season. Not bad for a kid no one had ever heard of and got picked towards the ass end of his draft. The Russians produce some damn good goalies.

In spite of Springfield's not so stellar start to the season, they recently had a 9-game winning streak from mid-January to Feb 10th which has them 6th in the conference and in hunt for a playoff spot. There are 10 teams separated by 6 points for the final 4 playoff spots on the East. The issue for Springfield hasn't been goaltending with Hofer and Zherenko sporting a combined .914 SV%. They just haven't matched their offensive output from last season.
