Thoughts on switching to Discord?

Totally spitballing here...
But we have a Discord server: discord.gg/FmkMuBJHzM (www.letsgoblues.com/discord)
Right now it's branded Let's Go Blues Radio, but that could easily be rebranded to LetsGoBlues.com. And we could tweak it in other ways too.

It doesn't get a ton of use, but I'd like to see that change. We've had it for a while.
Would anyone prefer Discord to the Forums?
Would you guys prefer to replace the forums with Discord?
It's totally up to you guys. We can keep both. But if everyone would prefer Discord, we could switch to that and that would be a lot less maintenance & upkeep for me...and it could lead to more traffic in time.
There are a lot of advantages to Discord...but it all boils down to personal preference I guess.

If you haven't tried it, maybe join it and give it a shot for a bit?

Anyway, up to you guys. Let me know what you think. 😁

It's still a forum but a different platform?

I'm good with switching to Discord. If it happens, I would suggest adding a few channels: Game Day, Non-Blues NHL Stuff, and Blues Prospects.

Never used discord. No strong feelings either way.

Hi Guys,revanced
Switching to Discord can be a great choice for better communication and community engagement. Its user-friendly interface, voice chat, and various text channels enhance collaboration. However, ensure a smooth transition by providing proper guidance to users unfamiliar with the platform.

Update the channels on Discord for typing, vice talking. The only open channel right now for typing/texting is nhl-playoffs-chat. If no one's updating it, no one's going to move. A competitive Discord Blues channel is far more active.

Ok, I finally got back around to this.
The LGB discord has been revamped. New channels, got rid of the old ones... and I added a few "forum style" channels to mimic more of a discussion forum style, along with a standard gameday chat channel.
It's a work in progress... so hop on over, check it out and feel free to shoot me suggestions in the discord if you have any and we'll see about implementing them.

I'd like to redirect all traffic from the LGB Forums over to our discord server in the near future. It might take some getting used to if you're not used to Discord. But please hop over and try it out and get familiar with it. It's like anything else, just gotta get used to it.

One of the many nice things about Discord, is that there's a Discord app. So you can easily access it on your phone.

The plan is for Lets Go Blues Radio to do some post-game show Voice Chats in there, and invite you guys into the voice chat to discuss, whatever. We can do post-game chats, chats after big news, or whatever. So there are some cool options in there for everyone.
