I agree with the concept but let's break it down:
Slightly means not very much, but with no idea how aggressively worn it was. You can wear something for 5 minutes and beat the crap out of it.
Gently means "with care" but you could have worn it for 16 years prior. Anything worn that long is bound to have some similar features to the slight/aggressive alternative.
What does this tell us?
Nothing. Nothing at all.
