All we've got left in the budget is 4.5 toasted raviolis and a day-old gooey butter cake. Take it or leave it.Blues Fan in SF wrote:So long as you understand there is absolutely no money in this, surePortland Blues wrote:Since my company (well, myself) came up with the concept of the Cam Janssen trailer you may need to fly me in on a consultancy basis.

Re: bitching....again
So last night, we have water in our basement. Odd, since it hadn't rained in a few days. Further investigation reveals that the water is.... warm.....
Water heater started leaking from the base. It's at least 20 years old.
$900 later, our new water heater arrives Thursday....

My parents have a 20-year-old water heater too, which is why I got my dad a Leak Frog as part of his birthday gift:
I've got one next to my water heater too. Woot!

And... we were wanting to replace it anyway. The old one is a 30g one (not enough for a family of 5) and I'm sure it's not very efficient. New one is high-efficiency and 50g.

Re: bitching....again
When I lived in Dallas I replaced my water heater with one of the tankless ones, and it was great. One day when my current water heater dies I'll probably replace it with a tankless one too. Never-ending hot water and it used about half as much gas. I miss the days of $17 gas bills - $7 worth of gas and $10 worth of BS taxes and fees.

Re: bitching....again
I really wanted to go that route, but the much higher up-front cost scuttled that idea. Just flat couldn't afford it right now...big d note wrote:When I lived in Dallas I replaced my water heater with one of the tankless ones, and it was great. Any time I see you post in the bitching thread now I'm always afraid it's going to be from the Great Beyond, given your recent adversarial relationship with health.Blues Fan in SF wrote:Goddamn it to all hell - because our (Frank) IT infrastructure is completely fukked at work I am now going to have to work

Seriously, though, sorry to hear about it. That really sucks.

Hopefully that won't happen any time soon - someone has to steer the rickshaw after all
I fixed what was wrong last night - the damn script was trying to write out a 4.6GB file into a disk partition that only had 1GB free...grrrr...

Re: bitching....again
So this whole reverse 45 degree angle parking on sundays on streets not made for 45 degree angle parking is starting to piss me off.. There's no warning or anything and I can't fathom why it's legal, but every Sunday I'm ridin down Lindell and nearly crash into some bible-thumper's Chevy Impala that is parked out in the damn driving lane.
