nice. Anything with Daniel Day-Lewis in it is money. He's hands down my favorite male actor.

read the book too. very good. Kundera was not pleased with the film though.

I see lots of Coen Brothers' movies in here, which is good - but no one has mentioned the one that is, IMO, the best one they've ever done:

Comedy:

The funny Adam Sandler movies (Billy Madison, Waterboy, Happy Gilmore), the Kentucky Fried Movie, Superbad, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Spaceballs, The Big Lebowski, the funny Kevin Smith movies (Clerks 1 and 2, Dogma, J&SBSB).

Drama, etc.:

The Shawshank Redemption, the original Matrix, Snatch, Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, Lucky Number Slevin, Sin City, the orignal three Star Warses, pretty much every Tarantino movie (Four Rooms included, but that goes above).

A bunch of others but I hate typing.

Just my favorites, no particular order...

Shawshank Redemption
Apollo 13
American History X
Star Wars III- VI
Lord of War
Back to the Future
Jurassic Park
Rudy
Enemy at the Gates
Collateral
Miracle
A Beautiful Mind
The Prestige

.... I think thats it

And Ruutu: The Big Lebowski is one of the stupidest movies ever made- maybe that kind of humor just doesn't appeal to me, but I thought it was God-awful and have no idea why people think it's so great.

Watch it about 5-6 times and then get back to us. If you don't "get" it then, you never will.

I think you probably went into it expecting a type of comedy you have seen before. That's most people's mistake with it. Another mistake is taking the plot seriously. The plot is absurd and totally irrelevant to what the movie is about.

Like the nihilists, the movie beleivez in znothing.
