Went to Lukas tonight:
2 bottles of Celebrator Double Bock
2 bottles of Sam Adams Cream Stout

Other selections:
750ml's of Hennepin, Boulevard Quadruple and Three Philosophers Quadruple.
2 bottles of Two Hearted Ale
2 bottles of Lowenbrau
4 pack of La Fin Du Monde
6 pack of Bridgeport IPA

As my every-other-week tradition has it, the cork on the Hennepin went first and I'm enjoying that slowly tonight.

Lukas is having a tasting of the new Boulevard lineup tomorrow from 1 to 4. I can't make it, but that's what they were saying at the register. The guy checking me out was new which sucked because a lot of times those people will chat boose with you, but this guy had no idea what I was buying.

I had a La Fin Du Monde and a Beamish last night. I just got over a really bad respiratory infection and was really tired and I got through only about half the La Fin Du Monde and was feeling no pain.

I'd never had Beamish before. It was pretty good.

Cream Stout - pretty good although I'm not a fan of the Stout genre. I would rank the Milk Stout from Lefthand brewery ahead of Sam Adam's Cream Stout. Both had similar characteristics but the Milk Stout revealed itself more noticably and with more complexity than the Cream Stout.

Just poured my first glass of Celebrator and it's a fine crafted beer. So smooth with an easy but noticible after taste. I'm pretty sure my glass is cleaned very well, but there isn't much lacing at all, it disappears off the side of the glass within 2 seconds, so the presentation does leave some desirability. Maybe the brew is not the correct tempature for that. I'll definitely purchase this one again.

I'm no snob - I'll drink anything, and I won't snub anyone's brew. I just pay attention to what I'm drinking - big difference. There's so many different types of beer out there, I think it is silly to just limit yourself to one type or even one brand. That's all.

When I buy beer, which these days I usually prefer rum, I get PBR. $5.49 for a 12-pack of decent enough beer.

I bought some cans of Dale's Pale Ale over the weekend. It's pretty good, but I think next time I'll get something like PBR instead too. I paid $8.50 for a 6-pack of Dale's. I'm kind of done with the super-hoppy pale ales. I just can't get into that style. I brewed a mildly hopped pale ale on Sunday and I'm hoping it turns out closer to something like Bass.

The Schlafly Summer Kolsch is not bad.

big d- i hear ya on the pale ales. I just don't like them much anymore. I still like bass, which isn't even considered a good one. I'm sure I haven't had a really good one. All the ones I've had have been American micros. Maybe there are some good ones, I don't know.

I'm all about trying different Hefeweizens right now.

My glass was probably screwed up or the beer was too cold.

I popped the top on the Boulevard Quadruple tonight and it wasn't bad at all. It can certainly hold its own in the genre. I wouldn't rate it at the top but it's a good affordable alternative to some $12 Chimay Blue or something like that. I give them props.

I dunno, marco. After reading some beer sites, I may not understand what "significant lacing" is exactly.

When I've poured Celebrator into a pint glass, it leaves some foam on the side near where the top of the head was and then down the glass somewhat. Is this the correct definition? Maybe it was just a little bit of lacing, I'm not sure. I'm new to this beer snob game. ;)
