I'm sitting in my living room messing around on my computer when I hear a bird smack against my kitchen window. I look up and see a poof of feathers. I go outside and see a bird lying on the ground below the window. On closer inspection of the bird I see it's still breathing and looks like it has a messed up wing or something and the bird is staring at me. So I am thinking to myself if I should stomp on the bird to put it out of its misory or if I should get a shoebox and try and nurse it back to health. Then the bird flies away. I guess it just knocked itself out or something...

Mental Note Part 1

The next time I rent a gas powered auger to dig post holes for a fence, do NOT leave it out in the middle of the backyard when the backyard consists of nothing but dirt (grass hasn't grown yet), because if we get a downpour, I will have to slop through lots 'o mud to retrieve the auger and drag it through 50' of mud... and then I'll have to spend 20 minutes hosing the thing off before returning it.

Mental Note Part 2

If I have failed to head Mental Note #1's warning, make sure to wear old shoes & clothes when retrieving the auger after the downpour.

Towne House Motel in Tupelo Mississippi... Hotwire HAD it listed as 3 stars, $80/room/night but discounted to $44/room/night... Looked like all the rooms had long-term tennants there, and they were all having a block party in the parking lot when we drove by. The family all said "keep driving dad...".
