I spent most of the day yesterday trying to come up with a generator. I managed to find the last one on the shelf in Lowes in Columbia. It was a display model, and was damaged, but I got it working. By the time I made it back home with it, my power was back on, but I expect if we have more bad weather tonight and tomorrow it'll be out again.
I wouldn't be worried about a little power outage normally, but I have thousands of dollars invested in my reef tank, and a blue and gold macaw. No power is bad news in my house.

The mall here has lost power. The Governor has declared a state of emergency. And yes, Jeff Shitty has earned its name.

Well I hope everybody is ok.
I have a hard time grasping the concept of places being closed due to snow and ice though. I suppose the loss of power has a lot to do with most of that.

The mall has lost power?! crap! Ever since Wildwood opened, that place is a dump. Needs to be torn down and re-built as a giant White Castle.
And secondly, I love Jeff City. You just don't have any friends there.
Weather ain't looking so hot for us here in Lawrence tonight...

I live right across the river in Granite City and we've had nothing but thin layers of ice on the cars. I consider us lucky. We've got the island effect thanks to STL and the river. All the rain and snow go north and south. Hope you guys stay warm.
