Saltwater Aquarium Enthusiasts

Post by cprice12 »

True story.
On the way back from our pickup hockey game this evening, a buddy of mine was telling me about this Saltwater Aquarium Enthusiasts Forum that he is a moderator of. (sidenote, he's into saltwater aquariums...which can be pretty cool to look at...and apparently a bitch to maintain)
Anyway, they have a few hundred members or so.
He tells me that a handful of the members got upset with the way things were going on the forum, so they started their own Saltwater Aquarium Enthusiasts Forum...and they constantly bash their former site that they branched off from, giving them a hard time, etc. (sound familiar )

Due to uncanny similarities in ridiculous behavior between the rogue Saltwater Aquarium Enthusiasts Forum members and the exiled former LGB members, one can only assume that this group of hooligans is one in the same.

So in light of this riveting story that hits so close to home....I have decided to adjust the word filter and the infamous [auto edit: illegal url] word censor...which has run it's course.

Why not just let people address the problem.

You shoving everything under the rug is what caused all the problems.

You can just delete this post though, since I'm sure you won't like it.

At any rate, this whole forum war is freaking ridiculous, that is the one thing everyone can agree on.

Forum war? That's funny...and quite ridiculous.
My post was a true story...I thought it was funny. Nothing more, nothing less. Sorry you disagree.

That's horseshit. What caused the problem, and the need for Curt to implement the filter, was people from Saltwater Aquarium Enthusiasts coming here and spamming this board.

Wow...someone who remembers something the way it actually happened.

Ok...
Before this becomes a back and forth of who started what and what caused what...let's just let it go.
I have no desire to moderate what will turn into a bitch fest, and we all know it will.
Maybe this thread wasn't such a good idea...it was just supposed to be a joke.

So before this turns into something you don't like we should just drop it.

Good idea.

Saltwater aquariums are too expensive to maintain. If we ever move, I plan to get my aquariums going again with oscars. Right now, I only have a 2-year-old betta.

Agree. Would love to do a saltwater tank -- some really gorgeous fish out there... but just too finicky, too much of a PITA. I can barely remember to change the filters in my 2 freshwater tanks.......

Growing up that was my brother's biggest hobby. He had a really big saltwater tank. I always thought it was cool but was never passionate enough to maintain something like that as I couldn't seem to keep the guppies my mom got me alive. Maybe someday when I have my own place and a bit more money to blow.
