No, I haven't tried it because it's AT&T. Those shitheads get none of my money.

That said, if they offer me an insanely lucrative job after I graduate, all will be forgiven. :)

For the same amount of money I'm paying Charter for Basic, Expanded Basic, and one box, I can get all the chanels I get from Charter and then some including the NFL Network, all their HD programing (which is more than I would have to pay extra from Charter), 3 boxes and a DVR.

My parents got the U-Verse internet service a few weeks ago. It seems to be working ok now after several stupid installers messed with it and some calls to customer service. It seems like nothing ever works correctly on the first try anymore.

I went for it. It will be installed 3/7. I'll let everyone know how I like it. I don't think anyone is in love with Charter.

It is not available in St. Ann. Guess I am stuck with (franking) Charter for now.

Are you sure it isn't in St. Ann? I'm in Overland, so you can't be far off.

It seems like you've been going to school for at least the last 7 years, so I'm sure by time you graduate AT & T will no longer be around - again.

Got it hooked up Thursday. So far, I'm very pleased. Regular picture (not hi def) is waaay better than what I had with Charter. Hi def is awesome. Love the DVR, although it is my first so I have nothing to compare it to. My internet has same band width but is faster because it comes into house on fiberoptic instead of phone line. Then free wireless network to pc.

I started looking back into getting internet service installed in the new house...

Just curious what everyone's really paying. I know the intro rates are teasers, and I'm pretty sure you have to be a moron if you're paying their stated rate.

I used to have 3meg Charter for 22.99 + tax. Their current offer is 5meg for $55.

Is it really cheaper then charter? I've been pricing my options out for a while, and charter has honestly always been pretty competitive. I currently pay $80 a month for digital cable and 10 meg internet. I looked at the U-verse offerings and they didn't seem to have anything that was significantly cheaper then that.

I think the trick to charter is to call them up and try to get some sort of special offer. I call every 6 months and get no some new special plan. It's a pain in the butt, but it saves me a lot of money. If you just go with the normal plans and rates I think it runs a lot higher.

Last time I tried to call and get the special price the guy at Charter told me that "I had to pay the full price at some point".

If you threaten to cancel charter they automatically offer you a cheaper rate too.

Yeah, I always threaten to leave and they get me on some special 6 month plan. I call them every 6 months and get some new plan. I've been doing it for about 2 years now.

I just tell them that I've been looking at the competition and was wondering if they can meet some of their prices, because if they can't, I want to switch.

It's worked so far.

I wasn't really looking at UVerse, just curious what people were actually paying for Pipeline or DSL.

I was paying $44.99 per month for Charter but just switched to AT&T and I'm paying $35 for their 6 Mbps service. They have packages for as low as $19.95 per month.
