XBox 360 mods

Has anyone here modded their 360? I was about to get a NME chip, but I'm thinking that the Xecuter Blaster flashing tool might be a better option. The solder points on the 360 are narrower than on the original. Anyone have experience with flashing their console?

Non-soldering would be the way to go. It's cake....or so I've heard. It would also be a lot cheaper to replace a messed up dvd-drive than the motherboard.

My question would be how to do it without compromising your Xbox Live capabilities? I would want to know this solely for reference reasons. It's fun to know things you have no intention of putting to use...

I'm about to flash the DVD drive, and I've ordered the SATA PCI card needed to do so. Your live capabilities AS OF NOW are fine, because you can make stealth backups. If you get the Kreon flashed burner ($50) you can make 1-1 copies from your pc....no FTP'ing or anything.

Funny, a friend of mine has a SATA PCI card on the way as well and could have recently been spotted around the net looking at Kreon drives.

What brand dvd-drive do you have in the 360?

I'm having issues flashing this BenQ drive using iPrep. How are things going for you Ruutu?
