Pujols is having a rough game at the plate. Hopefully, he'll make up for the 7 he's left on base with a HR in the 9th or something. Yes, Izzy blew another save opportunity.

You can't blame that all on Izzy. McClellan struggled putting the runners on, Flores was one strike away from getting out of the inning, and Pujols missed the pop up in foul territory. And one can argue if he even should have been in there.

And Ianetta just made a great swing on a tough pitch in on the hands and drove it the opposite way. Izzy struggled a bit, but he made some good pitches too.

Either way, a frustrating loss to say the least. But the bright side, we can take the series tomorrow, and we still have our 2 1/2 game lead.

Actually, the larger blame in this one goes with Pujols leaving 8 men on base. He is human after all. Everyone was getting on base ahead of him, he just couldn't drive in the runs this time. Then there wouldn't have been any reason at all for Izzy to enter the game in the 8th.

That lose makes me absolutely sick.

Good Christ, Ludwick is hot. That makes me feel better about that 4 run first inning for the Rockies.

Ludwick's HR may make you feel better, but this is a re-play of what the Cardinals are doing against really bad pitchers - not hitting the ball when it counts. When St Louis faces decent pitching, they hit the ball well. Put 'em up against some guy with an 8+ ERA and the team forgets how to hit when there are runners in scoring position, if they even get them there.

Should have won 3 of the 4 games.
