Food for thought irt Chris Duncan.

Chris Duncan is supposed to add pop to the Cardinals lineup. We're supposed to accept his weaknesses in fielding because of the offensive punch he will provide.

This season:
Duncan - AB 123; BB 21; SO 31; AVG .252; OBP .359; SLG .390; OPS .749; RBI 14

Meanwhile, everyone derides Izturis for his lack of offensive punch:

Izturis - AB 132; BB 17; SO 6; AVG .265; OBP .362; SLG .326; OPS .688; RBI 8

How much longer do we have to wait for Duncan to start producing more than a SS who is known for being weak offensively? He certainly isn't deserving of the #2 spot in the order with that kind of crap for offensive production.

Meanwhile, Duncan strikes out again - this time as a pinch hitter.

WTF is TLR thinking when Duncan couldn't hit a softball vs the Astros?

Izturis is doing a damn fine job. As far as Duncan, I say deal him or as Bernie MIklasz wrote today, send his ass down. Then give Mather a shot.

Duncan sucked to finish last season, he sucked in spring training and he has sucked this entire season so far.
In 2006 he played well for 90 games.
But since then he has played in 173 games and overall has been pretty bad as far as outfielders go...and has gotten progressively worse as he has played more and more.
He had his 15 minutes back in 2006.
He's done. Everyone knows it.
The sooner he is traded/sent down/etc...the better.
