CG, 3 hit, shutout!!!! Amazing. 8)

10 runs without Pujols - oh heck yeah....

With Ank, LaRue (yes, LaRue), and Ludwick all going yard.

If this team can stay above water over the next few weeks without 5 then I'll be pretty darn confident about their chances.

This should be fun....

Pineiro off the DL and starting tonight vs Arroyo and his 5.74 ERA whom the Cardinals looked very pedestrian against in their last encounter.

At least the bullpen had last night off :)

We really need Pineiro to have a big game tonight. With all the tough interleague games coming up against Boston,Detroit and maybe KC. Also, Philly on the weekend. It would be really sweet if we could win tonight's game before that tough stretch starts.

Pujols hasn't been carrying this team all season.
So him going down for a few weeks isn't good, but it won't cripple the team by any means.
They should be ok until he returns.
Ludwick is hitting better than Pujols anyway...he's tearing it up (6th in the NL in AVG, 4th in RBI, 6th in HR, 6th in 2B).

For this game specifically, Pineiro needs to start going six innings. As far as missing Albert, I think we can muddle through. His injury did allow the ESPN hairpieces to show their ignorance. http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/vid ... 8&n8pe6c=2 Ludwick's success is because of batting in front of Albert? Nope, he's had 26 at-bats in the first and second spots of the order, with 2 home runs. At least they actually have some talent on the baseball side, unlike with their hockey coverage. Gammons, Neyer and Law are worth the price of the insider membership.

pujols' BA is like 20 points higher and they have the same home run total. :?:

Same home run total, but Ludwick has 10 more RBI's.
As far as I'm concerned, driving in runs is the most important stat for a batter.
I'm not putting down Pujols, as you could make a case for either having a better season. My point was that we have (had)two huge threats in the lineup right now...so it's not like losing Pujols leaves us without any big threats. Ludwick has been just as valuable this season so far.
Glaus has hit much, much better over the last month as well...so that helps quite a bit.
