Tue June 24: STL Braden Looper, RHP (8-5, 4.10) @ DET Kenny Rogers, LHP (5-4, 4.36), 6:05 PM
Wed June 25: STL Kyle Lohse, RHP (9-2, 3.63) @ DET Armando Galarraga, RHP (7-2, 3.03), 6:05 PM
Thu June 26: STL ??? @ DET Nate Robertson, LHP (6-6, 5.60), 12:05 PM

Thursday should be Todd Wellemeyer, RHP (7-2, 3.67) or Mitchell Boggs, RHP (2-0, 5.40). I'm betting on Boggs pitching. Then Wellemeyer should be ready for the KC series with no need to give a start to Mulder.

Time to continue the strong play on the road.

We could win the first. The 2nd game will be a pitchers duel most likely. The 3rd game could get ugly. But, you never know. Look at the Boston series.

Ugh...I hate Detroit.
I'm sure they'll be all geared up for "revenge" from '06.

Oh I remember...

Remember his gay little celebrations after every pitch? What a loser.

Good game. Detroit sucks.

And the Cubs finally lost on a day when we won. Holy crap.

3 1/2 games out now. That sounds a lot better than 4 1/2.
And Pujols is getting ready to come back into the lineup. I think we survived his absence quite well. And I think we're a game over .500 since he's been out.

Come on Pujols, Wainright and Carpenter... If those three come back and contribute... and if we can stay relatively healthy the rest of the way... I like our chances.

I wouldn't expect Wainwright or Carpenter until August with the way things are going.

Nice way to start the series. A sweep would be perfect.

Their 8th hitter is Edgar Renteria and their 9th hitter is Pudge Rodriguez. Our first basemen last night was Adam Kennedy. I'm already happy with one win.

Which makes Detroit's slow start to the season even more amazing. All that hitting and they were losing - ALOT!

Early August would be fine.
The Cardinals are going to hang around...as long as they play well head to head vs. the Cubs.

Nothing like walking in the winning run.

Parisi needs to be sent back down and NOW!

Was watching the game at a local watering hole and as soon as Parisi entered the game, I told the guys sitting next to me Detroit just won the game. When Parisi get ahead of him in the count, they were both like - one strike and game keeps going. I said with this guy pitching - look out for him walking in the winning run  It sucks being prophetic.

I've reached the point now, that if LaRussa plays Parisi, he's conceding the game.

FYI - the Cardinals lost this game early when they had 9 hits on the board and 0 runs after 5 innings. Can't lay it all on the 'pen as the offense choked big time.
