That cop is an absolute ass, but most cops aren't like that.

Ethically speaking, police are supposed to REFUSE free things as it interferes with their ability to objectively protect and serve.

My thoughts on cops is well documented. There are some real winners out there but I can't say that they should be judged as a whole.

There are plenty of places that offer free coffee to police/fire/ems workers. I think he's wrong to just assume every place of business he walks into will comp him and crossed the line turning into a dick about it and even demanding it when he wasn't working.

If he can't get his free coffee there, I'm sure he knew of pleny of other places where he COULD get a free coffee.

Seems like an abuse of power to me. (which DOES drive me nuts)

Yeah, not fair to lump in all cops. Take 100 of ANY group of people, and 10% of them are just completely without "people skills".......

My dad got free coffee every morning at the same gas station for 6 years straight when we lived in Tampa. He was in the Air Force, and right after 9-11 he could pick up so much free stuff. i remember we got 100% free upstairs tickets to any lightning game with a military ID, and half price downstairs(which continued until the second half of the season that they won the cup), free 2 year passes to busch gardens in tampa for the whole family, and alot of other stuff.

Odd... here's another article about the incident. The quick version... a 21 year old gets tased 14 times in 9 minutes becuase he didn't get up fast enough after being cuffed.... and dies.

Now, that's a f*cked up story.. Moreso b/c the higher ups in the case don't seem at all concerned about using a taser 19 times on someone who already had multiple broken bones... If your officers can't subdue someone in that condition with a little (try a lot) less force than that then they're too incompetent to hold a water pistol let alone have a license to tase people they deem it "necessary" to.
