I tend to agree. Way too much of it these days is 80% hook, 20% actual lyrics (I blame Juvenile for starting that trend), which is one of the reasons why I've always appreciated Bone. Of the stuff coming out that I like today, most of it has Timbaland involved to some extent.

Be Persecuted - "I.I"
Warrel Dane - "Praises to the War Machine"
Abyssos - "Fhinsthanian Nightbreed"

I'm extremely picky when it comes to rap. I'm a classic rock/hard rock guy. I only like a handful of rap artists/groups.

Listening to Greg Howe right now. He's the man! Long live fusion shred. \m/

There is nothing like Bone Thug these days. Nothing.

Naughty By Nature was another great group. Once again, nothing like them these days either...

Oh come on now...the old Death Row Stuff? Snoop and Dre were awesome back in the day. There are still a few rap albums that I love: Mind of Mystikal (his 1st, sucked balls since), Westside Connections 1st, the first two albums from Twista, and as OS and STL JA have said, Bone.

I don't listen to any rap that has been made in the past 10 years or so though.

It just generally annoys me. I find it to be a very irritating thing to listen to. I guess it's just my age speaking.

However, I still really dig one album. See the post right above yours.

To me, Straight Outta Compton still fukken rocks hard. I lived in LA during that time frame used to drive into Watts and Compton daily making deliveries and pickups. I was even chased once by gangbangers out of Watts late one night. Was hauling ass about 100 MPH down Imperial Highway back toward South Bay to evade them.

To me, that album is real, maybe because I was almost jacked.

How do you like "Om"?

I have 75 more songs to download this month. Yeah! I need to clean up my computer before I fill the hard drive though.
