If we're gonna have a baseball forum then we need a Cubs suck emoticon.

Looks like Ankiel will be back tomorrow. Had a good pre-game workout today per BernieM. Probably holding him out just one more day to be sure.

It would be nice to shut up a lot of the Cub fans who have gotten quite cocky lately.

Missed opportunities. The first game was winnable...and we choked it away.
Bah.

Not only that - TLR pulled the Perez isn't a closer thing by throwing him into a tied game in the 9th. This was after using McLellan - leaving no one for extra innings other than Garcia in the 'pen actually capable of holding any kind of lead had the Cardinals offense actually awakened from their Friday siesta.

I don't really buy that.
Managers will often times put their closer into the game in a tie situation in the 9th, depending on who is batting, to make sure they hold the other team down.

And I bet LaRussa would have sent Perez back out there to pitch the bottom of the 10th had we scored in the top of the 10th. We had the top of the lineup, which includes Pujols, batting in the 10th, so it was a decent gamble by LarRussa.

Cubs still suck. :cubssuck:
We gave that game away. We practically handed them 4 runs on two errors and another ball that should have been knocked down at short.
Lame.

Winning the division was looking iffy anyway. The eyes have to be solely on the wild card.
Now if Milwaukee would quit winning.
