Friday, August 22 Charlie Morton, RHP (3-7, 5.95) @ Adam Wainwright, RHP (6-3, 3.14), 7:15 PM CT WooHoo!
Saturday, August 23 Jorge Campillo, RHP (7-6, 3.29) @ Kyle Lohse, RHP (13-6, 3.94), 2:55 PM CT
Sunday, August 24 Jo-Jo Reyes, LHP (3-9, 5.18) @ Braden Looper, RHP (11-10, 3.94), 1:15 PM CT

Hopefully, the Cards can beat up on the Braves like they did in ATL. This should be a sweep, although we may have to see what happens with Lohse. I wouldn't be surprised if that winds up being a Brad Thompson/Jaime Garcia start if the suspension is upheld - depending on how long it takes MLB to review the case.

Huge series.
A sweep would be nice.
These are the teams you need to beat up on. It would be nice to gain a game or two on the Brewers before we play them in the next series.

Lohse's start scares me...and I'm holding my breath with Wainright's start...but he is adamant that he is ready to go. So that's good enough for me. He had a killer last rehab start.
Atlanta isn't throwing anyone out there that should give us serious problems...but I thought that when Snell started the other night for Pittsburgh. So we'll see.

Being within a half game or game and a half when we play the Brewers for two games, means we COULD grab the wild card back from them if we sweep them in the two game series.
We can't afford to fall three and a half games behind the Brewers and then get swept by Milwaukee and fall five and a half games back....that would start to nail some nails in our coffin.

This is the time to go on at least a 6 or 7 game winning streak.

I will be satisfied with nothing short of a sweep this series.

Which means they'll win two...and then get their asses handed to them on Sunday.

Well, they have 29 runs scored in their last two games.

LaRussa got on them about their lack of offensive production a few days ago. I guess that struck a chord somehow?

Nice win.
Now win the next one.

Crap.
Well...6 or 7 runs wouldn't have been enough today.
Lopez cost us a legitmate chance to win this game in the 9th by taking too long on his throw to first. Atlanta shouldn't have scored any runs in the 9th, and they got three.

What the hell got into Atlanta? Making a half a dozen outstanding defensive plays today? :?

One on, one out in the 9th.
Ludwick is up.

8-4 Braves.

Winning a series is nice....but we need to start sweeping some of these bad teams, especially since Milwaukee isn't losing that often.

Huge series coming up.

Huge.
