Steve was a long time friend of mine and all of my friends in the music scene stretching back almost 20 years. I first met him when he was in the T.H.U.G.S. with Leon Lamont and my old bandmate, Cubby Smith. He will be dearly missed. He was a helluva player and a genuinely nice guy in a business filled with massive egos.
RIP, Steve. I will crank some T.H.U.G.S. in your honor tonight.
