Monday, September 1 STL Joel Pineiro, RHP (6-5, 4.83) @ ARI Randy Johnson, LHP (10-9, 4.02), 3:10 PM CT
Tuesday, September 2 STL Adam Wainwright, RHP (7-3, 3.04) @ ARI Yusmeiro Petit, RHP (3-3, 2.83), 8:40 PM CT
Wednesday, September 3 STL Kyle Lohse, RHP (13-6, 3.89) @ ARI Doug Davis, LHP (6-8, 4.59), 2:40 PM CT

Just what the Cardinals ordered. More left-handed pitching. Can someone explain to me how everyone the Cardinals play has 2 or more decent left-handed starters, yet the Cardinals don't have any? Is that just a money thing and the Cardinals refusing to pay for a quality lefty? Or just bad organizational depth. I know, Jaime Garcia is a future lefty, but there don't seem to be any others in the organization.

This is what's in the organization as lefty starters:
Jaime Garcia - Memphis
Brad Furnish - Springfield (Pitched well in 4 starts, had a 5+ ERA when he was promoted from A+ QC)
Justin Fiske - Springfield (got promoted to starter and only had 1 really bad outing in his 7 starts thus far)
Nicholas Additon - Palm Beach/Quad Cities (pitched well)
Tyler Norrick - Palm Beach/Quad Cities (been really bad; now on 7-day DL)

No one on that list jumps out as a quality starter other than maybe Garcia. Are the Cardinals ever going to actively seek quality starting left-handed pitchers?

What a way to bounce back from that sweep by the Astros, hitting 4 homers and running Johnson out of the game in the 4th inning. A 5-1 lead! Great!

Oh wait....nope...time to piss away that lead. Game tied at 6. D'backs with 4 HRs of their own. Fan-facking-tastic.

The ump behind the plate was horrible. He was so bad, the Arizona announcers were ragging on him for bad calls when the Cardinals were pitching and the ump was calling balls. They couldn't believe the first and 3rd pitches to Dunn weren't called strikes in the 7th inning.

Barring some ridiculous run of 8 or 10 in a row...we're done.

Fun season...but we just ran out of gas and couldn't overcome our bullpen issues.

Die Cubs.

Yep, we let this season get away. It was a much more fun season then I thought it would be.

Also, Die Brewers

Decent win I guess. We pick up a game on the Brewers who lost to the Mets in extras. Not that it matters.

Nice to see Waino get the W.

Awesome. Another series that could have been a sweep...and we somehow lost 2 of 3.

So many opportunities blown this season.

Death to the bullpen.
