Any other Dexter fans here? New season starts later this month...
Discuss the St. Louis Blues, the NHL, or whatever.

Yup, great show.Ruutu15 wrote:Any other Dexter fans here? New season starts later this month...
You really should see the Showtime version (same as the DVD's). Apparently it was cleaned up quite a bit for network broadcast.OS wrote:I watched the first season on CBS in the spring and loved it, but haven't seen seasons 2 or 3 yet.
I watched about a half of an episode on CBS and couldn't stand it. It was sped up (60 minute show into 40 minutes), cut down, and monstrously edited. I recommend just buying it on DVD, cause anybody who walks through the room while you're watching it is gonna wanna borrow it anyways.Ruutu15 wrote:You really should see the Showtime version (same as the DVD's). Did she give it up?ksbluesfan wrote:I dated a girl from Dexter, MO. She was sweet.
If she gave it up, I wouldn't have described her as "sweet".Ruutu15 wrote:Did she give it up?ksbluesfan wrote:I dated a girl from Dexter, MO. She was sweet.
Obviously I have no idea how much it was shown on Showtime, but I remember that room very well... so they at least showed it some.Mellanby_equals_grit wrote:I remember the room completely covered in blood, which was a super awesome scene.. I think it was almost entirely edited out.
I've never seen it on CBS, but I can't imagine them not cutting up the show a lot. There was so much stuff that wouldn't be allowed on network television.OS wrote:Obviously I have no idea how much it was shown on Showtime, but I remember that room very well... so they at least showed it some.Mellanby_equals_grit wrote:I remember the room completely covered in blood, which was a super awesome scene.. I just can't imagine Doakes having much dialogue on the CBS version , and he's an important part of the show.cprice12 wrote:I've never seen it on CBS, but I can't imagine them not cutting up the show a lot. Violence, lots of blood, nudity, language...I am sure the CBS version is ok if you haven't seen the Showtime version. But I'd have to guess that the Showtime version is far superior.
The whole basis of the show revolves around how dark of a person Dexter really is as he tries to control it and hide it. By cutting a lot of that stuff out, I think you'd lose that extra edge that makes the show that much better.
Just my opinion.
