Aaron Miles Signs with the Cubs

Post by dmiles2186 »

I have split feelings on this...I was always a Miles fan. I thought he was one of the more underrated bench players we had in recent memory (remember who scored the 2 runs on the 2 hits by David Eckstein in the '06 World Series that basically clinched him the World Series MVP? Aaron Miles). I liked his versatility, and he was a helluva relief pitcher...haha.

Anyway, he's a Cub now. They signed him at 2 years, almost $5 million...which I think is a bit steep. Oh well, So Taguchi in '07 and Aaron Miles in '08...two of the better bench players the Cards have had in awhile, gone in back to back offseasons.

The Cubs do love them some spare parts from St. Louis. $5 million for Miles.

I'd rather spend $5M on Miles than whatever we're paying for Kennedy.

So would I, but at least the Cubs now have Miles as their starting 2 bagger over DeRosa, who they traded to Cleveland. I'll take that trade off as a Cubs hater.
