If I had the scratch, and I may have mentioned this here before, I would open a Dunkin' Donuts or Krispy Kreme, right next to a White Castle, and locate it about two blocks from campus.goon attack wrote:What the....? That's messed up. I paid $25k less for way lot less... of course I don't have to drive 2+ hours to watch a Blues game in person.OPTIMEGUS wrote:It is in Columbia. I paid $160,000
Does that mean you have to commute to JC still?OPTIMEGUS wrote:

I looove drinking in Jeff.. At least as a novelty.. The beer is so retarded cheap nobody here even believes me.. (3 dollars pitchers.. not a special).. The hoosier-watching is unbelievable.. And you can walk into a bar, then walk into it 6 months later and see the same dozen people in the exact same seats.. But like I said it's a novelty for me, I wouldn't enjoy it if that was where I still lived.TSUCookieMonster wrote:Jeff City isn't that bad!!!OPTIMEGUS wrote:Yes, it is a 35 minute drive to or from Jeff City.

Way better than Lawrence. At least they have a decent pub there that doesn't have college students trying to get up on my wife...
so what if it's a gay bar?!
Are you talking about Spectators? Paddy Malone's is decent, but its an older crowd all the friggin time. Never been to Mike's Corner Pocket either. I'm not really into going to those places anyway.TSUCookieMonster wrote:Jeff City isn't that bad!!!OPTIMEGUS wrote:Yes, it is a 35 minute drive to or from Jeff City.

There are a lot more trolls at the Spectator poker games than on this forum..Mellanby_equals_grit wrote:I looove drinking in Jeff.. At least as a novelty.. God damn, I need to convince my fiancee to move to St. Louis. What a bargain.cprice12 wrote:Cool.OPTIMEGUS wrote:It is in Columbia. I paid $160,000
What's your square footage?
Our new place is going to run us about $230k (unless we go over)...and it's 2220 sq. ft.... 3853 sq. ft. if you include the walkout basement and garage (which I do, because I'm F'ING paying for them).
Congrats on the new place. Exciting times.
In fairness he lives out in the sticks of Illinois not in St. Louis.glen a richter wrote:God damn, I need to convince my fiancee to move to St. Louis. What a bargain.cprice12 wrote:Cool.OPTIMEGUS wrote:It is in Columbia. I paid $160,000

Well, we're outside St. Louis, in Edwardsville...which can be a pretty "high rent" area. But that figure doesn't include the 5 acres the house will sit on, which we bought almost two years ago for $95k. So...I guess total it will be around $325k including the land.glen a richter wrote:God damn, I need to convince my fiancee to move to St. Louis.
