In and Out Burger

I have been hearing people on the west coast talking up this burger joint like it's the next coming of Christ. Anybody here ever ate there? Are they putting cocaine in the burgers? What makes them so good?

Back when I ate meat, it was okay. I thought it was good, but not extra special. My girlfriend who is from LA/SD says the same thing. I hear people talk about their off-menu items, though...haven't had much of that.

Pretty good description there.... It's not really quite up to all the hype. When it comes down to it it's still a large chain restaurant. You can find a way better burger at a mom and pop drive in.

I think people just like to order things the "secret" way - "Animal Style", "Jungle Style" etc..

I ate at In and Out when I went to Vegas a few years ago. It was good but nothing particularly special. The fries are fresh made so that was a high point.

We have a place here called All-American Burger, an old fashioned stand that was voted very high (#1 in the tri-state area) and has the best burgers I've ever eaten. Also crazy low prices, you can get a double cheeseburger, hot dog, fries, knish and a drink very cheap. I've gone out of my way to go there instead of getting the crap at McDonalds or BK.

It has been a while.. I think it was 2 years ago at this time I was in Vancouver.. That mighta been the last time I went a significant distance away. Hell if it weren't for school I would rarely leave St. Louis city.

Your man-card has expired. And you're not up for renewal.

Their burgers aren't anything special IMO. I had a friend who used to rant and rave about them all the time. I finally went to one a few years ago in Vegas and I was underwhelmed. She drove me half way across town to one that she thought would be less crowded than the one next to the strip. Still had to wait like 10 minutes in line. The fries were too hot, my shake didn't have enough chocolate and the burger was just okay.

I'll admit I was totally high on vicodin at the time due to a broken bone being in a cast. But it wasn't like I came in my pants after eating there. I'd be willing to give it another shot next time out on the west coast, but I wouldn't go out of my way to have one.

I think In and Out burgers are awesome. I don't know if they're the best I've ever had, but they're EASILY the best I've ever had from a chain. I make it a point to go get some every time I end up in Las Vegas.
