Sending out a feeler, who's interested? I heard a rumor that registration begins Feb. 10th which would be insane because last year it started really late, and typically I think it starts around the time of pitchers/catchers which is most decidedly NOT Feb. 10th.

if it comes out that a player used steroids, how many points do you get for that in the league?

OK, seriously who's in for this season?

I was thinking of a 16 team league, keeper format head to head, about 14 stat categories, 7 offense, 7 pitching.

At this point, who knows?

I'll play.

It's not Fantasy Football, but Fantasy Baseball is pretty fun.

so we have a 4 man league.

Well I'll go ahead and set up the league as soon as we can agree on some settings. Since no one else has expressed interest, I'll leave it up to you guys.

I'm thinking the usual stats plus some

HR, RBI, batting avg, SB, Hits, total bases

Wins, ERA, WHIP, Saves, Holds, complete games I think is a stat they offer

defensively I think they might offer fielding percentage.

Let's aim to draft by the 21st?

Let's also aim to get more teams.

I can set up a live draft. We'll need to agree on a day and time though.

Any time in the morning or early afternoon on the 14th, 20th or 21st would be best for me.

Any weekday evening besides the 10th or the 17th works as well (of course not during Blues games)

League name is LGB Baseball
Password is blues

I don't know if any of this is case sensitive.

I'm scheduling a live draft for March 23rd (a Tuesday) at 8 PM which I assume is EST, so 7 PM for the rest of ya'z. I assume that can be changed any point before the draft, but I wanted to pick something just to get it registered. The Blues are NOT playing that evening, so don't worry about that.

Head to head scoring, optimistically set for 16 teams even though I doubt that.

A couple changes from the standard settings, negotiable if you don't like them, of course:
Trade deadline Aug 22 (instead of Aug 15)
Min innings pitched 12 (instead of 7)
Utility slots 3 (instead of 2)
3 SP, 3 RP, 2 All Pitchers
2 DL, 6 Bench
In addition to the typical scoring categories, I added:
Total bases and walks for offense
Assists and double plays turned for defense (not sure how DP turned works, is it anyone involved in the DP or the first guy to field it or the last guy to field it?)
Holds, No Hitters and Perfect Games for pitchers

I'm of the belief that more stats makes a better league. Of course if you want something different I can go ahead and change it.

PS: it works out to 17 stat categories, which should eliminate ties. Even with perfect games and no hitters which are obviously generally unlikely, it would still be an odd number. I prefer odd numbered stat categories.

Spread the word to anyone to join. League name and password is above, and it's a yahoo league.

Curt, can we sticky this somewhere for a couple days to generate some interest?

We need the league ID to find it.
