Sometimes the setup lines and underlying stories between the employees are kinda lame, but the show is interesting as hell.

I think it's one you either love or hate. Takes a couple episodes to get going, but the story lines have been amazing.

If you do, I would add at least 2-3 disks from Season 1. It's a show that doesn't spoon feed the viewer everything. You are just plopped in the middle of everything without any proper explanation. So it takes about 3-4 episodes to start understanding what's going on and who the characters are and what they do. But once you learn everything, man, oh, man...it's hard to stop. So yes, I'd recommend to watch when you get the chance.

Uh...the BBC version and the Discovery version are the exact same thing...the only difference is Oprah narrates the Discovery version and David Attenborough narrates the BBC version.

It's the exact same footage. Now, whether or not they cut some things out for commercials, I have no idea.

I'm not a huge fan of Opera's narration...but I'm not really watching it to hear someone talk...I'm watching it for the visual awesomeness of it.

since we're venturing away from sitcoms...

The Universe and How the Earth Was Made, both on History, are essential viewing for me.
