I don't care about basketball, I care about net cred, and people knowing my opinion is best. :okman:

LeBron has already fucked up. No matter what team he signs with, he won't be making the right decision. LeBron, gather your attorneys together, fire them, because here is your "ah-hah" moment.

Step 1) Buy the Knicks.

Gather the hundreds of millions of dollars in equity that you would have from playing the rest of your career in New York. Tell the world you want to be the villain, and care only about money and championships. If you need more money, get your free agent friends to go in on this with you. Sign for minimum, and keep all the revenue for yourselves, and not in the hands of your corporate masters.

Step 2) ??

Step 3) Profit.

I really dislike basketball a great deal, but if LeBron signed with the Knicks, and with the addition of Stoudamire already, and MAYBE retain David Lee, I might actually take some interest this year.

Can A. Nigro play hockey? You knew that was coming.

LeBron-A-Thon is over. Miami.
I think that decision proves he can never be the "man" on a team.

LeBron lost a ton of respect today, and now the Heat are my new favorite team to hate.

Open letter from majority owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Just awesome...

http://www.nba.com/cavaliers/news/gilbe ... 00708.html
Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....

Dan Gilbert
Majority Owner
Cleveland Cavaliers

Yeah, that letter just made me do two things: 1) take an interest in basketball and 2) become a Cavs fan.

LeBron has absolutely no class.

I tuned in to see HOW he was going to do it and just how ridiculous it was going to be, not because I care about the NBA or where he goes, because I don't.

This whole thing is/was an ego trip on steroids.

Lebron should be embarrassed and ashamed at how he went about this...and ESPN should be boycotted for playing along with Lebron's ego parade.

The guy hasn't even won anything yet. It's not like he singlehandedly won the last three NBA championships or something. And he's even been accused of quitting in the playoffs by members of the Cavs.

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

And guess what...this is all we're going to hear about for the next couple weeks...and when the start of the next NBA season approaches, there will be that many more Labron stories on ESPN that will supercede NHL highlights and stories. ESPN will be tripping all over themselves trying to dedicate as much air time on SportsCenter to Lebron & the Heat next year.

Can't wait.

I gotta agree, there were several ways LeBron could have handled his decision to leave. The method he chose was self-serving, egotistical promotion and one of the worst ways possible.

Before- most people would have welcomed/been happy for LeBron winning a title in Cleveland- the title drought capital of the world. Now- the vast majority probably hate him and the Heat are the Yankees of the NBA now.

I hope and pray the Cavs win a title before LeBron does, that would be AWESOME- akin to watching Hossa skate through the Cup Finals line with his head down wearing a Red Wings jersey. That was glorious. And he won on the 3rd attempt the jerk :x

Not defending this circle jerk of his, but all the ad revenue generated by the ESPN show (at least his portion of the show) went to the Boys and Girls club.
And why should he be villianized any more than any other UFA who signs with another team?

Because of the way he went about it. The honorable thing to do would have been to inform the Cavaliers of your decision, and inform them personally. If you don't at least have the nuts to do that, you're not a man. He had his homie call them 5 minutes before the televised show.

And you just KNOW A. Nigro wouldn't be cordial in that phone call either.
