Music/Concert Thread

I know there are some threads around here that pertain to music and if there is a concert threat, lock this one. Figured I'd start a thread in here where we talk about music you are currently listening/gushing over. Also, if you are going to any shows, post reviews, geek over your excitement of the upcoming show, etc.

Because of my location (2 hours each direction from major/large city), I don't make it to many. Also, my wife and I share no common musical tastes, save for a few. One band that we do absolutely both love is The Avett Brothers. If you like country, bluegrass, country rock, etc. these are the guys for you. In the last 8 months or so, they've shot up the list and become one of my favorite, if not my favorite, band around. They're playing at the Pageant in St. Lou on Sept 24 and I'm going. I can't miss this. These guys supposedly put on a helluva live show.

Clips are coming...

No response to this whatsoever. Oh well...I want to post this somewhere to share. This song, I have a feeling, is going to be absolutely everywhere in no time flat. Obviously, the language in the song is NSFW, if you couldn't tell by the title. Enjoy.

Yeah just heard this song yesterday. What exactly is the radio edit going to sound like?

No need for a radio edit if they play it on satellite.

They have their own sound too. Not sure if it's some kind of brotherly mojo thing or what but whatever it is, it's works.

Another band I recently found is ALO (Animal Liberation Orchestra). I don't know if I've just been living in a cave or what but I had never heard of these guys...good stuff as well; I dig their bass lines:

I recently got into Steel Panther... totally awesome. Video is not safe for work. Their album ROCKS. They are 80's hair metal parody band, but they are seriously good. Your wives/girlfriends will love it. HILARIOUS!

“I used to play in a Death Metal band. Most Death Metal bands have dark names like “Obituary”. We weren’t that intense. We were just “Injured”. And later we changed it to “A Capella” as we were walkin’ out of the Pawn Shop.”
Miss ya, Mitch!
