I Now Own a Wii

I'm more of an Xbox 360 guy but my wife has been interested in a Wii here lately. We picked up the Super Mario 25th anniversary bundle this weekend. I haven't done a lot of reading on games out for the Wii. I know the Super Smash Bros. Brawl is out there, and I want that. But any tips on Wii specific games I should check into? What about games for download on the shopping channel from NES or SNES? I'm going to do some looking during down time at work, but I just don't know the 'good' games out there for the Wii. Also, it only came with a standard AV cable. I don't have a Best Buy nearby, so I checked at Wal Mart and couldn't find an HD cable for the Wii. Are there any? Next time I get to a Game Stop, I will look but the only ones I saw online were 3rd party produced cables.

This is the Wii game that we can't get enough of in our house.

I love to play this game after late nights at the bar. It's fun to play doctor.

Owned a Nintendo Wii since they came out. Nintendo die hard fan. Wife loves it too. Tons of good games, but they get a bad rep for some reason... not bloody enough I guess...

Good games I own:
A Boy and His Blob (1 player), fantastic graphics
Goldeneye (just bought it, apparently awesome)
Donkey Kong Country Returns
New Super Mario Bros. Wii (A MUST OWN if you like Mario)
Super Mario Kart Wii (awesome)
Gretzky NHL Slapshot (good game for arcade action. not so much a simulator)
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Big Brain Academy (fun for kids too)
Call of Duty 2 is awesome
Super Paper Mario is entertaining
Build Blox is totally underrated.

I've been told to not even bother with the NHL 2K series on Wii... :-(

I like the wii and all, but I like for my money I like the PS3 better. I grew up on Nintendo, like I'm assure everyone else did too, but what hurt Nintendo was that they didn't give it a graphics update like Xbox and Playstation did. I bought the Playstation Move, which in my opinion is the same thing as the Wii controller. But I will be more interested to see what games will be compatible for it.

Wii was only the first to come out with the "gimmick" motion controller according to MS and Sony. While they did not do the graphics update MS and Sony did, it has taken - what - 4 years for MS and Sony to make their own motion controllers while the Wii without fancy graphics outsold them over it's lifetime.

Lifetime console sales:
Wii--31,806,900
360--23,551,389
PS3--14,267,800

Yeah - the PS3 and it's great graphics really took off.
