Nice comeback win on that kid closer. FFS, why did we take Motte out in the 11th though? I thought he was being used as the closer, but he decides to bring in one of our worst relievers. I mean, it worked, but WTF!!!

Apparently getting a DUI isn't cause for a suspension. I wouldn't think anything major (and maybe not even official), but Lowe should have at least missed a start I think.

Pujols playing 3rd for the first time in a long time. And just got tested and came up with a PO on a Chipper Jones grounder.

Ryan Theriot...

Can't pin that on Franklin yesterday. He gave up the run, but still...that was awful on Theriot's part.

Yeah, and I just read an article this morning claiming Theriot is a plus 7 runs saved.

I'm not going to even try and make since of that 'scoring system' but anything calling Theriot a plus anything based on his play here is greatly mistaken.

If Theriot could become adequate defensively, I'd be fine with him. He's hitting well, but not well enough to justify his defensive liability.

I have mixed feelings about the game yesterday. I don't blame it on Franklin. Theriot grounded into a DP w/ the bases loaded and no outs when we could have broken the game open. He also had that huge error in the 9th. The thing that bothers me about Franklin yesterday is that he is proving that he doesn't have the ability to pitch around anything anymore. Sure, he faced bad luck yesterday, and other times this year (Rasmus dropping 27th out in SF, etc.). But, a reliever's job is to get around those situations consistently. He isn't doing it at all. If the defense isn't perfect, he can't get by.
