Cards get Furcal for Castellanos

I like this deal a lot. It is a great example of a low-risk, high-reward deal. Castellanos is hitting well, but Hammons Field (AA park in Springfield) is a great hitter's park with a 315 ft LF wall. Furcal, on the other hand, has struggled primarily because of injuries. In the past 10 days he has started playing much better, hitting above .300 (.303 maybe). If this is a sign that he is back to old form, we got him for a steal. If it isn't, we only have him for 2 months (so we aren't burdened by a major contract) and gave up a middle of the road prospect.

Absolutely was a good deal, provided that Furcal can stay healthy for a change.

I see no harm in this one.

I don't really think we have a chance to win anything this year, but I don't think we gave up too much in Castellanos.

Great deal.
Word is Furcal has struggled this year mainly because of nagging injuries that have kept him out most of the season and hurt his production when in the lineup. He's healthy now and is hitting better of late.

Now I guess we will have to see if they move Theriot to second and Skip to the outfield. We all know LaRusa is going to play Skip.
