Always liked AVS. I was too young to really remember him as a Cardinal, but he was one of my favorites as a Pirate. I think his views here on Rasmus are right on the money.

I think Van Slyke missed the mark on this one. The reason Colby is happy to be gone is because he doesn't have to worry about the stupidity of his team manager anymore. Tony held some silly vendetta against Rasmus since he came up with the team and Rasmus had enough of it.

VanSlyke has pissed me off ever since he retired.
He has had it out for LaRussa since LaRussa cut him when he tried to make the Cardinals in his bid to return to St. Louis in spring training at the end of his career.

AVS has done nothing but piss and moan about LaRussa and how he manages. He's a bitter, crybaby, ex-player and it's annoying as hell.

And I'm sure that LaRussa's Cardinals beating VanSlyke's Tigers in the 2006 World Series only pissed off VanSlyke that much more.

VanSlyke's comments surrounding the Kenny Roger's pine tar incident also pissed me off.

I liked VanSlyke when he played here...but I can't stand him now.

I'm surprised he backed LaRussa in the article.
