Report: Francona out in Boston

Makes no sense at all. To be honest, over the last few years, I have cheered for the Yankees in that rivalry. Yankees fans are assholes, but at least you know what you're going to get.
The Red Sox are so different than the team that won in 2004. They won their titles largely based on chemistry. Now they're trying to out-Yankee the Yankees and it's not working.
If La Russa leaves, which I doubt, the Cardinals should look long and hard at Francona since there's no way Maddon is leaving TB now.
It may be different for you guys in the STL market because you get al of the local coverage. Watching MLB Network, ESPN, etc., the only thing they talked about was the Boston collapse. They barely even mentioned the Atlanta collapse, which was just as bad. I was happy yesterday on PTI when Mike Wilbon made a point to say that ESPN only cares about BOS/NYY, and took it upon himself to actually mention the fact that there are teams outside the northeast.
