Unfortunately wasn't able to catch any of the game tonight but by the sounds of it it was a close one. Better than getting curb-stomped at any rate

Goes without saying that next game is a big one.

As to Pujols: Definitely understand what you guys are saying but (and this is also from an outside fan looking in) he IS the Cardinals. I know you "have other players" and whatnot but there IS a value to a guy who is pretty much THE franchise, and the face of it as well. Beyond the stats, beyond the performance, that has a value in and of itself.

But I definitely hear where you guys are coming from and especially if the years on the contract weren't right, I wouldn't even mess with it at that point if you think you're going to be putting him on waivers or buying him out when he's only halfway through his contract.

I really liked what the Brewers did with Fielder this year in just signing him to a one year deal just to put off the inevitable and at least make one more go at it. We also aren't capable of affording him next year so there's that too  but you guys think Pujols would even CONSIDER a one year deal? Especially if the Cards fall just short this year but keep a lot of the pieces in place around him?

He turned down 8 years at 23.5 mill a year already....what do you think?

Man...the starters cannot get through 5 innings. What's the deal?

Greinke and Garcia tonight. Milwaukee has the upper hand in the matchup. We know for sure the Cardinals will have to win at least 1 in Milwaukee now. Let's hope they don't make it 2 by losing tonight.

Even as dominate as Wolfe was we still had a chance to win that game. 4-2 in the 9th with a guy on first. I think Garcia will perform well tonight at home and even though it will be close I think we win. If not it will be almost impossible to win 2 in Miller Park.

Pujols may be the face of the team now, but that's the thing with the Cardinals...every era has a new "face of the organization".
This franchise was one of the greatest in the majors for 100 years. They were fine before Pujols...and they'll be fine without him if they can't/won't sign him.

So many great names have come through here and are in the HOF, and there will be many more after Pujols.

I want to see him stay, I'd be sad to see him go, and it would be just flat out weird seeing him in another jersey. But the Cardinals, in the long run, will be fine without him. It's not like they would be letting him go just before his prime or right in the middle of it...he is more than likely on the slight decline and his best years are behind him.

I think that there is a far greater chance that some other team is going to eventually regret signing him to an 8 year 30 million contract much more than the Cardinals would regret letting him go.

It's amazing that the Cardinals have 3 wins in this series and none of our starting pitchers have made it past the 6th inning. Another great win tonight. Milwaukee awaits the Cards. Keep it up boys.

It's karma.
How hilarious is it that Nyjer Morgan made those comments a month or two ago, bragging about how the Brewers were in first place and he hopes the Cardinals enjoy watching them in the playoffs??

Karma.

I hope Morgan enjoyed watching the Cards win the NL pennant.

I was more pumped about winning this series than I will probably be if the Cards win the series. Milwaukee REALLY pissed me off this year. They were waaaaaay too cocky, and it came back to bite them in the ass.
How embarassing for them.

LOL, I hate that mother. My only regret is that I didn't get to see him cry last night.

Exactly. Nyjer is the only one I have a major problem with. But, the Beast Mode stuff (which I don't hate as much as others) seems even more obnoxious because of him.
