Wow, right on cue. Apparently Paterno is being shown the door at PSU.

This whole thing kind of makes me sick to my stomach. Actually, no kind of about it. I was just talking to my brother in law a few weeks ago about how Paterno has been sitting around for 10 years collecting victories from the press box. Then this happens. It's hard to believe that after 40-some years, this may be the way JoePa's tenure ends.

Unrelated, but here is a story about what a class act Paterno is, though. Obviously third hand, but...
Howard Stern's wife is from Pittsburgh. Her dad actually was college teammates with Ditka. Her brother played for Paterno at Penn State several years ago. He was at a function somewhere years after graduation and Joe recognized him, came over call him by name (Ostroski), asked about his family. Was he working? If he was ever out of work, call him. He has plenty of connections, etc. Imagine a man his age who has coached literally thousands of guys to care enough to remember all these details about his players.

That doesn't surprise me at all tbh.

I think Paterno is probably a genuinely good guy who likely used absolutely horrendous judgment in not speaking out over the cover up.

And PSU fires Paterno and the president (Spannier?). I don't know whether to say good for them or too little too late.

I don't know what is more offensive: Sandusky's interview or the Catholic Church offering to teach PSU and other schools how to deal with child abuse situations.
