Games 1 and 2 are at 7:05. Wednesday's game is at 1:20. All games on Fox Sports Midwest.

As a whole we're looking really good and that's without Holliday contributing much so far (which will clearly change). I read somewhere that we just won our 16th series in a row dated back to last season.

That doesn't surprise me. I know we've won every series so far this year and with how dominant they were down the stretch last year, 16 would be right in that ballpark. It reminds me of those '04/'05 teams, where they just won series after series after series. That's a good thing for sure.

And I apologize for not having a series thread up for this past weekend's showdown with the Pirates.

What a crappy end to a good game last night...

Looking forward to tonight's game and I'll be at the game on Wednesday! Yay! :gocards: :fthecubs:

Yeah, terrible way to lose the game. Game was all but over and they stole it from us. At the end of the year if we miss the playoffs by a game, this will be the kind of game we look at.

But, it's just one game. Motte is still a good closer. Our offense will score more than 2 runs. So, I think we'll be fine.

I went to bed after the missed call at 2nd base. Knew the game was over then. Two crappy calls cost the Cards that game, but oh well, gotta play on.

I was happy to see Matheny get kicked out. I've been wondering how he would handle situations like that given his way of doing things. The fire was nice to see.

I umpired for 13 years I think and know that calls are going to be missed. But those two are inexcusable. They aren't difficult calls to make. Plays at home plate are frequently difficult because you line up at a 45 degree angle behind the plate, but there are more angles for a player to come in than other bases. But, that was pretty straight forward and should have been right in his line of sight. Steals at 2B are also sometimes difficult because you're calling a tag play with the play between you and the base. But that one looked super obvious.
