Let's Go Blues

I know it's blasphemy to admit you enjoy watching any brand of basketball around here, but surely you've all got brackets. I've got Kentucky, Villanova, Arizona, Gonzaga in my Final Four. Chalk, I know, but hey...I've gotten hosed the last two years try to call the upsets and failing horribly.

Games tip in about 5 mins. Leggo!

Kentucky is gonna win, but I picked Wisconsin on my bracket. I saw a poll that 66% of brackets had Kentucky winning it all. So, even if you correctly pick them, you have to get the rest of the crapshoot best to win. I figured there's a better chance of Wisconsin pulling the upset than there is of having the best Kentucky bracket.

btw, I dunno if anybody bets on sports, but I saw something strange today. BetUs had Kentucky -125 to win it all while Bovada had them +110. That means if you bet $100 on each site, you'd win $80 on BetUs vs $110 on Bovada. That's a HUGE difference. I don't do much sports betting, so maybe differences like that are common, but I was shocked by that.

Yeah, I thought about doing that, I really did. Wisconsin is a good pick but I just went with my gut and tried to pick some weird upsets so hopefully that pushes me over the top. If it fails, then I'll probably finish near the back of the pack of Kentucky pickers who did better in the first few rounds.

Probably a typo on Bovada site. They had the +/- mixed up often on NFL games I noticed this year.

First upset of the tourney: UAB picks off Iowa State. Iowa State cannot be trusted in higher seeds, it seems.

The end of Baylor/Georgia State was nuts-a.c. I picked Albany to beat Oklahoma, but I'm starting to think I took the wrong 3/14 upset.

That would make sense, but I don't think that's what it was. I typed 100 into the wager box and the to win box auto populated to 110.

Anybody catch the end of the Duke/Utah game? If you didn't, here's what happened:

Line on the game was Duke -5.5. With 7 seconds to go, Utah pulls within 5. Duke inbounds and Utah basically has given up. They make a half hearted attempt to steal. There was a jump ball that didn't get called and then the buzzer sounds. Teams shake hands and head to the locker rooms. Refs don't. They look at the monitor and see there was a foul with 0.7 seconds left and bring the teams back so Duke can shoot FTs with under a second to play in a 2 possession game. He hits 1 of 2 which flipped who beat the spread.

I had Utah +5.5 on a series of parlays which is probably the main reason I care. But, still, wtf. How much must that suck to be a Utah player and be forced out of the locker room to watch meaningless free throws? That was bad officiating.

My early picks sucked, but I had 6 out of 8 teams left in the Elite 8 and now I have a perfect Final Four...COMEBACK!
