I was contacted by an individual who is putting together a Blues fan club site and they wanted to link to LGB for their discussion forum.
I said that was fine by me.

You can sign up to be put on their email list and be notified of various events and things that will be put together. They're going to have events all season long, road trips...that kind of thing.

That's bravenet.com's site that does that.

Personally, if I was running that fan site, I would have used zoho.com's Creator, and made a registration form through them and placed it on the site page. It would automatically populate a database with the form info too. And you can easily convert the database to a printable file as well.

It's all free, really easy to maintain and update and there are no ads asking you to sign up for stuff.

Nice job. I'm sure you'll find Zoho easier to use and maintain than the Bravenet stuff.
Zoho is a lot like Google Docs, except Zoho offers a lot more features, including a kick ass form creator and corresponding database that the form responses get dumped into.
