The only thing Babe Ruth was doing was booze and grease.

It's amazing to me that all those old timey players who were big time boozers like Ruth and Mantle were some of the best damn players ever. It was just pure, natural talent without the juice. Imagine if any of the players in this era had the natural talents of guys like them. Gehrig was probably the only one back then who wasn't a drunk, which probably explains why he was able to play every day.

I don't believe that he only used for 3 years... logic says that the "pressure to perform" would have been a lot greater in NYC and with all the others up there using Perf. Enhancers...it just seems way too likely.

I don't think A-Rod is really telling the whole truth.

And it would have been a whole lot more credible if he'd admitted this before a "story broke" in Sports Illustrated.

It's not about steroids. It's about the Worst Generation taking on another sacred cow and erasing the infidels from the record books in order to protect Their heroes. Go read Ball Four. I'm supposed to believe that all of those guys playing for "the love of the game" were grabbing hands full of Skittles out of those jars? Yeah right.

It has nothing to do with the purity of the game. It has to do with some loser fifty-year-old making sure that it's nothing but Willie, Mickey, and the Duke around when they're dead.
