Goon can you name one other thing Miles does well?
He can`t hit doubles, he can`t Field worth a crap, he has no power, he doesn't take walks.............
All he can do is hit singles............
I disagree I would rather have Kennedy fielding at 2nd ANYDAY then have Miles there...............

He hits for average, at least twice in his career. .290 last year to Kennedy's .219

if Kennedy get back to his previous form, then it's a no brainer. But he looked absolutely HORRID at the plate last year. I mean, I could fukken hit better than he did last year, assuming the pitcher threw only fastballs. ;)

When I'm at the cages at Tower Tee when they jack the fast cage up to 90 MPH, I'm jackin' fake taters left and right and then looking over at the rednecks with their jailbait girlfriends and saying, "Adam Kennedy can't do that sh1t, kiddies."

I haven't seen Miles field everyday. Sure, he had the one game with 3 errors at short, but I never saw him as totally deficient.

Sure, Kennedy may be more solid out there but if he's going to hit .220 again, I just don't know.

granted, I'm not a season ticket holder so I didn't get to see Miles day in day out or anything. I only can judge by what I did see on TV and a FEW games last year.

Just wonderin. I didn't realize he was horrid in the field. Is that the general consensus?

btw, I just checked their stats, and Kennedy's doubles output isn't a whole lot better than Miles'.

Hey don`t get me wrong I'm not defending Kennedy`s HORRIBLE year last year, that's what happens when players play hurt...
Also Miles played WAY too much last year it was ridiculous....
Just wonderin. I didn't realize he was horrid in the field. Is that the general consensus?
He is a very average fielder at 2nd but he is horrid at SS and at 3rd he can barely get the ball to first.....
If Albert didn't pick balls in the dirt better then anyone I have seen then Miles would have had a lot more errors....
Mozeliak signed Miles a few days ago to be a utility player.......
If he is a bench player who plays 2nd that's fine but please please don`t let him play another position!!!!
Also signing Miles means Brendan Ryan goes to AAA for the year unless he has an awesome spring.
Ryan can do the job much better then Miles and a million dollars cheaper.
Ryan can play a decent 3rd, a good SS and a good 2nd also its a small sample size but from what we have seen he hits much better then Miles.
He hits for average, at least twice in his career. .290 last year to Kennedy's .219
They both have around the same career averages Miles is .283AVG and Kennedy has a .275AVG but take into account Kennedy has over twice as many at bats then Miles.
If Kennedy is healthy he is better in every way over Miles.
Kennedy is plain and simple a better run producer then Miles(if healthy) and a better fielder(even if hurt).
I just checked their stats, and Kennedy's doubles output isn't a whole lot better than Miles'.
If you look at their year-to-year stats Kennedy`s double total is much more impressive. Miles only had 20 doubles once in his career Kennedy did that 6 times in his career.
Adam had 26 doubles in '06 but last year his knee injury kept him from hitting and hopefully he has recovered after his surgery.....
granted, I'm not a season ticket holder so I didn't get to see Miles day in day out or anything. I only can judge by what I did see on TV and a FEW games last year.
I literally don`t have a life lol I watch almost every Cardinal game.....lol I know much MUCH more about the Cardinals then I do the Blues.

Miles is fine for the $....Kenneday sucks balls...does that simplify it a bit? He can't hit a lick anymore and is a waste of $. Next to Rolen he is the worst value on the team at this point.

Does this simplify it any? Miles SUCKS for the money, Ryan can do it better for cheaper....
Kennedy had a bad year last year, hopefully he will do fine this year, atleast hit for his career averages.
I would not say the best fielder at 3rd in the game is a waste of money thats just retarded...........

The Cardinals don't have the best 3rd baseman in the game, so how is that germane to the conversation?

I didn't say specifically that they had the best 3rd baseman I said the best fielding 3rd baseman there is a big difference.

Rolen is a terrible value at $12mil per year, defensive specialists are not worth that, especially ones that have not been healthy for 3 years...I don't see how Miles sucks for the money, compare him to what is available...and Kennedy has been in decline for three years...

I don't know about you but I think Rolen has a good shot at rebounding this year. If he hits .270AVG with 20-25HR 75-90RBI he will be worth every penny.
I was comparing Miles to what is available...... Brendan Ryan who can hit better, field better(at 3 positions) and is a million dollars cheaper its a no-brainer.
Your mistaken Kennedy has not been declining for 3 years.....
Throw out last year and he has put up pretty much his career averages the two years before that.
I dont feel like pulling out all the stats to prove it unless you really insist...
If Kennedy is healthy he is way WAY better then Miles anyday of the
week.
Miles is the worst signing of the year, we have 4 Middle-infielders who are better than him Brendan Ryan, Jarret Hoffpauir, Jimenez and even Izturis I would consider better then Miles.
We did not need him next year it was a ridiculous signing.................

Not to mention ballbags who "won't talk to the manager" when they get their feelings hurt. Be a professional and wash out your vag, Rolen.

I have to rack that take. Rolen has acted like a little bitch on that one.

With all of the excess baggage on this roster, how can Aaron f'ing Miles contract generate all that heat? It is inconsequential and a roster filler...who really cares about this minor deal?
