Congrats! Now hurry back to flashchat, it's brutal in there without you.Blueline29 wrote:I'm still alive.
I'll post a few pics at some point when I'm a little more cognizant of what the hell's going on; by far the coolest part of the experience was getting a "Let's go BLUUUUUUUUUES!" from one of the cast members in the Magic Kingdom, which had me jacked for miles. That was awesome.

Well, clearly, and that would've thrown my time WAY off, so then it would've been on for real. I don't screw around with this stuff, be it athletics or hatred of all things Wing.Blues Fan in SF wrote:Good thing it wasn't "Let's Go Wings" - you'd have had to kill himBlueline29 wrote:Oh, and I forgot--after the one guy said LGB to me, someone else with him said, "No, no, no..." and tried to start up a Let's go Penguins chant, so I turned around and booed him.

Lol, that reminds me--on the way to the starting gate this morning, I was walking next to a man who, inexplicably, was carrying an armload of bubble wrap. Of course, I immediately thought of you.glen a richter wrote:Congrats! Now hurry back to flashchat, it's brutal in there without you.Blueline29 wrote:I'm still alive.

Last one, and then I promise I'll quit postwhoring (well, for a little while at least )...here are a few of the usable pics I ended up with. It's surprisingly difficult to take decent photographs while running.

That is amazing!! I could do maybe 1.1!
Now maybe you can do the Goofy Challenge and run in the full marathon tomorrow.
See you in Boston in April!
OH, and how did the guy know to yell "Lets go Bluuuuuuuuuuues!!!"?

The only way I could ever see myself doing the Goofy Challenge would be if someone pushed my cold, dead corpse in a wheelbarrow all throughout the course. Today was hot & muggy and tomorrow looks like it might be even worse, since it's been raining throughout the evening. My God, those people are all completely out of their minds.Jack T Adams wrote:Congrats on your 13.1 mile run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Blueline29 wrote:Last one, and then I promise I'll quit postwhoring (well, for a little while at least )...here are a few of the usable pics I ended up with. Oh, and here's how the guy knew to yell "Let's go Blues!" at me (and I suspect he might've been a transplant from the StL...he had the correct intonation down & everything):

I didn't yet, but I'm headed over to the MK in a few and wanted to try taking a few pics on various things, teacups included, so i'll ride it just for you.Jack T Adams wrote: Awesome representation!!!

The refurbs they did on Pirates and the Haunted Mansion are both outstanding. I'm hitting both of those again because I know I missed stuff. Yay, I love being a Disney nerd.
Oh, and not gonna say what the time was in the run because it was, well, slow, but I'm not upset because the weather was so much worse and so much more draining than any of the other 3 half-marathons I've done. Gimme the St. Louis one in April any day of the week over this! (apart from scenery, of course)
GO BLUES! I'm only gone a few more days, and then I'm all over Flashchat like a persistent rash.

I've only walked through the Cinderella's castle. I've never been inside. What is it like in there? A lot like the movie?Blueline29 wrote:Last one, and then I promise I'll quit postwhoring (well, for a little while at least )...here are a few of the usable pics I ended up with. There's a restaurant inside, which is pretty cool. The rest is these amazingly intricate murals made up of thousands of glass, etc., tiles, some of which are 14K gold. I got some seriously cool pics last night but they're on my camera's internal memory so I can't get to 'em just now. I dug 'em, though.Jack T Adams wrote:I've only walked through the Cinderella's castle. I've never been inside. What is it like in there? Part of the race first went down Main Street toward the castle, then looped around and went back through the catle from the back. THAT was cool, to come through as the sun was breaking through and to have all of these hundreds of people cheering as you went past. For atmosphere, you can't do better than this race. It was amazing.
